Its criminal really!  There is so much going on for us at the moment we aren’t even getting the chance to talk about it, recently, in a three week period I’ve been at home for just 27 hours…  thankfully though I’m loving every minute of the mission I’m on.

I had a fab time last week doing a workshop for Olympus at the Jessop Photo Festival.   Together with some fab delegates we did some fashion inspired shooting on the streets of Manchester.

Working with the OMD range for roving shoots like this is simply a revelation – I literally had everything I wanted and needed in a simple lightweight shoulder bag… vive la difference!!!

This workshop was about seeing, manipulating and shooting with the ambient light in conjunction with lens selection to highlight the focal point of the image and create separation when used with appropriate apertures.  Thats sounds a lot more stuffy than it actually was!!!

Its always a blast to get great feedback from the photo friends I made on the day, everybody went away happy having had a great time.  I love it when people ask to use our Olympus kit, often sceptical at first but I have to admit to a little smirk when the same people are literally blown away not only by the ease of use but by the results… I wouldn’t be using Olympus if it didn’t deliver.

This day was so well received we are going to be “rolling it out” around the country so keep your eyes peeled for new dates – this is a day not to be missed.

Here are a few of my favourite shots from the day

Using the Olympus lightweight means I can shoot more and be creative for longer, it really is a huge revolution for me.  I get to do what I love doing for longer without compromise – who could ask for more.

I loved showing the delegates just what can be achieved LIVE in camera with the cool “colour creator” function built into the latest OMD cameras…

I’ll finish with my personal two favourite images from the days shoot.  One utilising colour creator again and the other using the mono setting for the ultimate in image visualisation.

Like I said… I LOVED every minute of this so I know YOU will too, watch out for the next one, you really don’t want to miss out.

Till next time,

D
