Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas AGAIN - yes already!!!

The real question is WHY???

January is not only the start of the year but it also hosts the first of the UK’s if not Europe’s largest photographic events – the Societies convention, held at the Hilton , Edgeware road, London.

Now its no surprise I’ll be there, I’ve spoken at this great event for at least the last ten years but what is fantastic this year is I get to do another “First” at the event!

One of the best things about my partnership with Olympus is that their thinking in the UK is a fresh, as new and as innovative as the cameras they make. For the first time EVER Thursdays opening keynote is FREE to attend – Olympus, The Societies and I are all determined to give something back to the industry we love. So the pressures on then for me to give 150 lucky people some tips, tricks, insights and advice to help them propel their business and photography forward – deep breath on my part ;0)

Now the best part of 10,000 people will attend the three days of the show, and that got me thinking, its all well and good for the 150 that were quick enough to get a place but thats not really sharing to the best of our abilities is it. I’ve had so many Face Book messages and emails asking can’t we fit any more in than the 150??? I’m sorry to say that sadly the answer is no.

So whats the answer???

Well Olympus have the whole mezzanine floor at the trade show and we are turning the Olympus lounge into an area of sharing knowledge, technique and fun… again for absolutely FREE.

Olympus and I have put together a variety of 45 minute seminars and demos covering quite a bit. From classic portrait lighting through to cool fashion inspired imagery… we even have live babies for the “Baby Whisperers” to demonstrate money making techniques and skills for this highly specialised area of photography.

10:30 to 11:15 – Fashion in Motion – Creating movement and freezing motion with a fashion twist

11:30 to 12:15 – The Baby Whisperers – Join us as we share tips, tricks and insight in to this lucrative section of the photographic market, arm yourself with the knowledge you need to feather your nest.

13:00 to 13:45 – Hooked on Classics – Sometimes in photography you have to appear to go backwards to leap forwards, lets underpin the skills that really pay the bills, 3 point lighting.

14:00 to 14:45 – Beauty on a Budget – Creating high impact images doesn’t have to be expensive, learn how simple CAN be effective.

15:00 to 15:45 – The Baby Whisperers – Join us as we share tips, tricks and insight in to this lucrative section of the photographic market, arm yourself with the knowledge you need to feather your nest.

16:00 to 16:45 – The Subject Is My Canvas – Learn how simple high speed flash and a few pots of paint can create imagery worthy of a canvas.
