The first day of Focus is over, the OM-D is launched in the UK and my gagging order is off!
The question has to be… “Am I loosing it”???
I most genuinely am becoming more and more compelled by the Olympus system, especially the micro four thirds, I didn’t want to and I didn’t think I would but its crept up on me and well and truly bit me on the arse… which is great because I usually have to pay for that sort of thing lol ;0)
It does amaze me what the diminutive sensor is capable of but even more so the blinkered bigotry of some larger size sensor owners! These are tools to do a job and surely as long as its capable of what its asked to do, which it is, then that’s all that matters…
I will NEVER compromise image quality so that has to be a given, but the logistical advantage to the OM-D is something I’m finding hard to argue against. Is it only me that has got to the end of a days shooting and thought that Ste (my number 1 assistant) has replaced my DSLR and Lens combo with a breeze block, because sometimes that’s just what it feels like. Perhaps I’m just getting old!
Bottom line, its a beautifully conceived, fantastically engineered tool… Liberate yourself, cast off the blinkers and go take a look for yourself… be your own man and don’t follow the pack ;0)
This was shot on a resent test for the BIG “O” with what is simply becoming my favourite lens, the simply lovely 45mm f1.8. I can’t wait to get my hands on the 75mm f1.8 – will I be able to contain myself???
