Right I know that most of us will still be enjoying the festive break but unfortunately for us team McGillicuddy are busy “beavering away” in the background. We have so much on and so much we want to share in the new year if we didn’t start in 2013 we’d never get half of what we need to do done!
We have events, shoots and photographic training to plan, organise and shoot I shouldn’t complain but at this point in the proceedings it appears a massive hill to climb.
I’m off to Las vegas in a few days doing “stuff”, filming and shooting for Olympus… there is LOTS to cram in here. Then a few short days respite and restock and I’m off to my first UK “gig”. I’m privileged to be doing a few events at the SWPP International convention in London.
The 16th sees me doing a FULL days masterclass for the SWPP at the Hilton on Edgeware road in London. This I promise will be a BRILLIANT day. Not only will I teach cool lighting set ups with the minimum of kit and the minimum of fuss but you’ll get the absolute low down on my highly successful “lego brick” technique. I’ll show you that the right kit doesn’t have to cost the earth and the process of how I create my imagery. I’ll talk about the importance of CPD and how this and this alone will see your success in the industry.
We will look at branding and marketing… In fact the whole format of the day is aimed at giving you what you want and what your businesses need. It will have plenty of interactive discussion, loads of demonstration, tips, tricks, hints and advice… No smoke or mirrors just honest education and a willingness to share everything I’ve learned in my career – including the things I’ve learned the hard way, there are lots of those!

Don’t despair though, if you can’t make it why not come and see us at the convention trade show. Olympus have got me a whole mezzanine level that we are calling the Olympus lounge. On the Friday, Saturday and Sunday we will be doing FREE shoot demo’s, lighting tutorials, showing off the kit and chewing the photographic fat in general. I will be doing one other seminar for the SWPP, its on the Sunday morning… “Bump, baby and beyond” This is all about maximising your maternity and baby business – a lighting demo specifically for new borns and some secret industry announcements… well worth getting up for if you want to learn and increase your income. Come and meet the new and expanded “Baby whisperer Academy” team ;0)
So in short I guess we will be going from one extreme to the other photographically speaking…
